In 1994, I was laid off from a major aerospace company. My 401k was stranded—too small for full-service brokers, and too complex for DIY platforms. With a new wife, a baby, and bills to pay, I began knocking on doors in the Arizona heat as a financial advisor. What I learned on those streets, and in every business owner’s office since, became the foundation of my work.
